Do I have to upload my files to your servers?
No. You don't have to upload anything to our servers. As before, you upload static content on your server(s) and then our cachebot regularly retrieves copies of your files. These copies are then served from us rather than from your server.
How do you cope with bandwidth theft?
As a SteadyOffload subscriber you can define URL filters. If the offloaded URL doesn't match any of these filters, the request is halted with the "URL Filter Mismatch" error status.
Does dynamic URL substitution impede performance?
Not really. It is done on the client's browser by gathering the values of the custom HTML attributes to produce a new URL.
Is there any limit on the size of the files?
No. You can offload small text files as well as big downloads like CD images.
What about performance?
Only in case of a cache miss (usually the first time a content is requested) the performance is a bit lower since our cachebot has to read that content from your server. After a cache hit the content is served with a highly satisfying performance. Image manipulations are also cached, meaning that a thumbnail won't be resized everytime it is requested.
Is adult content allowed?
Yes. All kinds of content are allowed. What comes delivered from our servers is actually mirrored content from your server(s), so we can't impose any rules on that.
Should my site be "big enough" to use SteadyOffload?
No. You decide whether you need to offload your static content. We don't define any rules here. Both "small" and "big" sites can greatly benefit from the service as you only pay for bandwidth.
